What if my toddler doesn’t cooperate.
Expectations for Your 2-Year-Old - Don’t have any expectations.
It is true, a picture is worth a thousand words.
It is not uncommon for toddlers to show reluctance or disinterest in participating in photo sessions with newborn siblings. This can be due to a variety of reasons, including feeling overwhelmed by the new addition to the family or simply being uninterested in the activity at hand. As a professional photographer, I understand and respect the individual personalities and comfort levels of children during photo sessions. My priority is to create a safe and positive environment for all involved, ensuring that the experience is as enjoyable as possible for both the toddler and the newborn.
While this can be very nerve racking for the parents, I want you to remember one thing - it will all work out.
If the toddler continues to resist participation, we just remain patient and flexible, adapting our session to accommodate their needs while still capturing beautiful moments with the newborn.
Bringing familiar toys or snacks can help keep them happy during the session.
By acknowledging and respecting their feelings, we can let them choose to do their own thing. They will usually come around and join in on the session.
